How it works
Betbox is a free prediction game for beatbox battles. You play with coins that have no real value. The only prize is prestige — your place on the leaderboard.
Free, and it stays free
- Everyone starts with 1,000 coins and can claim 100 more every day.
- You can't buy coins, sell them, cash them out or send them to anyone.
- Coins are play money. They are not a currency and have no real-world value.
Markets
A market is a question about an event: “Will Kaizen beat Mirage in the Top 8?” or “Who wins the Solo category?”. Every answer has a price between 0¢ and 100¢, which you can read as the crowd's estimate of its chance.
Buying an answer gets you shares. If that answer turns out to be right, each share pays 100 coins; if not, it pays nothing. Buy at 40¢, be right, and you more than double your coins. You can sell any time before trading closes. Prices move as people trade — an automated market maker always takes the other side, so there's always a price.
Who decides the outcome
Anyone can create a market. The creator can't trade on it, and proposes the outcome once trading closes. Anyone who traded then has 24 hours to dispute it. If nobody disputes, winning shares pay out automatically. If someone does, a moderator makes the final call. Markets that can't be resolved fairly are cancelled and everyone gets back what they spent.
